So, At the top of the list is my personal favorite Horror anime series. The story goes something like this…when a middle school student named Misaki dies partway through the school year her classmates decided to carry on as if she was still alive. But no one could explain why their dead classmate was present in their graduation photo. Years later a boy, Kouichi Sakakibara transfers to that classroom and gets suspicious at the fearful atmosphere. A girl, Mei Misaki, who is always alone, catches his attention.

The story focuses on the “Diclonius”, a newly mutated species. Lucy is one such Diclonius, Lucy, she is initially held in a facility built for experimentation but she manages to escape but is injured in the process. This event which causes her to develop a secondary, childlike personality known as Nyu. Lucy is found by two locals, Kohta and his cousin Yuka. They take her in, and become involved with the numerous, often brutal, attempts to recapture her.

This anime is brutal, has a lots of blood and gore, Horror, nudity…probably not suitable for children…but well this is one hell of an anime.

The story takes place in 1983. Keiichi Maebara has just moved to the quiet little village and quickly becomes inseparable friends with his three schoolmates. As the village prepares for its annual festival, Keiichi discovers that there have been several murders and disappearances in the village in the recent years, and that they all seem to be connected to the festival and the village’s patron god, Oyashiro. Keiichi tries to ask his new friends about these incidents, but they are suspiciously silent and refuse to give him the answers he needs.

I loved the style of this anime. It will give you creeps.

Hi this is Phoenix, one of the co-founder of AnimeHound. I like to watch different kinds of anime and analyze them. Frankly I have learned so much from anime that I never knew was possible. It has changed my view of everything. My hobbies are writing and origami.
